The Fiber Studio is home to two new Bernina 860 serger sewing machines, thanks in part to a Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island Community Grant.

These state-of-the-art sergers are a significant upgrade from our previous equipment, providing a user-friendly experience and a wide array of stitching options. They’re housed in beautiful custom cabinets and have a touchscreen feature that guides the user through every step needed to thread the machine for each type of stitch.

Fran and Ginger from the Fiber Studio say this is the first time the studio has had a matching pair of high-end sergers, complete with documentation and service agreements. Previously, the studio had two vintage sergers that weren’t as user friendly and were rarely used. The new machines are easy to thread and provide multiple options for a variety of stitches. Orientations for the new sergers are ongoing and open to anyone who has completed the studio sewing machine orientation. They are available for open studio use after orientation with an instructor.

A Magical Night at BARN

Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, studios, donors, and guests who made Night at BARN such a stunning success. There’s still time to donate if you weren’t able to make this year’s event.
