The mission of the youth coordinator is to make BARN a good place for young people! Responsibilities include coordinating existing BARN youth programs like Teen Night and Summer Youth.

This is a half-time position during the school year, with some evening and weekend presence required, and a full-time position in summer.

Paid Summer Youth Intern – for individuals ages 18+ – July – August, Monday-Thursday afternoons.
Overview: Interns will assist in several key areas to enhance our youth program’s effectiveness. This includes developing proficiency in designated systems and tools, coordinating schedules for Junior Youth Volunteers, and maintaining the organization of youth spaces and supplies. Additionally, support is needed for student check-ins/check-outs, document preparation, lunchtime supervision, and studio operations. Your help in these tasks will greatly benefit our program.
Duties and responsibilities could include:
  •  Develop proficiency in designated systems and tools.
  • Coordinate the schedule for Junior Youth Volunteers.
  • Ensure the upkeep and organization of youth spaces and supplies.
  • Assist in overseeing student check-ins and check-outs daily.
  • Prepare and print rosters, class evaluation forms, and other necessary documents for program activities.
  • Supervise the lunchtime.
  • Provide support in studio operations as required.
  • Assist in physical setup, cleanup, and activity coordination for classes as needed.

  1. Complete the Summer Youth Intern Application by 5pm June 13, 2024
  2. You will be notified via email no later than June 10 if your application was selected for interview by the summer intern committee.  
  3. Mandatory Training TBA (dates will be discussed at hire date)
    Upon being hired, you will need to sign an agreement outlining the terms of the employment.

Assist the BARN Kitchen Studio with class and event cleanup.

This is a paid position with prerequisites. Must have a W-9 on file, Kitchen Orientation, and a WA Food Handlers Permit. Youths must have a Youth Waiver on file.
