The grain of this gorgeous cherry bowl has two bullseyes because David Gilliver made it from “crotch” wood, where the trunk branched into two. The bowl is 13” wide and 4.5” deep — good for daily use as well as a party. The finish is nut oil and beeswax. Hand wash, wipe dry.

Like a constellation, handmade ceramic beads swirl into infinity in this necklace made by Katy Levit, a ceramicist who serves on BARN’s Board of Directors. Colorful details and gold luster on the beads contrast with the matte finish on the curved disk that holds the design. Chain included.

Letterpress business cards have a classy texture from metal letters pressing against cardstock. Working in BARN’s Print & Book Arts Studio, Ben Rockwood will create a supply of them for you within eight weeks of when you tell him what they should say. Words only, but paper can add color. This serigraph print (ca. 1988) was created by Max Hayslette (1929-2024), an acclaimed modernist painter, printmaker, and designer. Known worldwide, he founded Olympus Graphics and Olympus Atelier on Bainbridge in 1973. This piece is not part of the limited edition of 375 prints, but a rare printer’s proof. Framed dimension is 41.5” by 50.5”.

This waxed canvas Portsmith tote is a classic everyday bag that’s strong enough to carry anything you throw its way. Made of densely woven cotton impregnated with paraffin wax on both sides, the bag is waterproof and develops a patina over time. Rivets secure leather straps. 11” by 6 “ and 13” high.

Capturing the movement and magic of water and the bioluminescence from plankton that make some Washington beaches glow on summer nights, this lamp is a collaboration of BARN’s Glass Arts and Woodworking studios. Iridescent glass shaped by Constance Ducar appears to spill over a beach created by Dawn Weaver from madrone.

This one-of-a-kind necklace and earring set features beads handmade by artist Tiffany Thiele in BARN’s Glass Arts Studio. She suspended colored glass frit within clear glass and added raised clear dots to magnify the shifting colors. Antiqued bronze-tone elements complete this luminous celebration of autumn. Necklace is 21″ long.

Stay cozy with a completely personalized cowl. Ashley Matthews from The Lamb & Kid yarn shop on Bainbridge will custom-dye yarn (you can help if you wish), and BARN Programs Manager Betsy Hagestedt will knit it into a cowl with a “colorwork” pattern you choose, using yarn in different colors.

It’s peak season for local wild mushrooms — perfect for an all-day collecting foray on private land not usually open to mushroom hunters. David Ansley, past president of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society, will show you how to identify mushrooms and their habitats, then guide you on the trail. Date: Wednesday, Nov. 4.  For 10 teens or adults.

The glass inserts in this sofa-back or entry table resulted from months of experimentation in  BARN’s Glass Arts Studio. Board member Jeff Williams perfected precise spacing and fusing to create bubbles, then framed the glass with Philippine padauk, accented with Gabon ebony. Table is 52” by 15” and 29” high.

Virginia Davidson, an instructor in BARN’s Print & Book Arts Studio, created this mixed-media print using all original print material. She wove the printed material and embroidery thread together, resulting in a very colorful,  one-of-a-kind abstract design.

BARN member Giovanni Strohmenger wove this luxurious shawl on an eight-shaft loom using three colors of Peruvian baby alpaca wool. He chose a deflected double weave, a multi-layer technique that creates a reversible pattern with unique dimensional textures.

Cynthia Jacobs designed this intricate glass piece to represent the texture and color of woven fabric. After cutting and fitting the pieces, she slumped the glass in one of the kilns in the Glass Arts Studio, resulting in an elegant rectangular serving dish.

Meticulously restored by BARN instructors Diane Bonciolini and Gregg Mesmer at their Mesolini Glass Studio, this antique window can be hung or installed in a wall. The glass in the center near the top is beveled; other details feature textured, patterned glass. Sturdy zinc channeling secures the perimeter.  15” by 38”.

Crafted by Marianne Spur in BARN’s Woodworking Studio, this exquisite treasure box features local alder with vivid “spalted” color variations, created by fungi that grew on the wood before it was dry. The box, 10” by 8.5” and 10 “ high, features mitered corners. Cherry details include a lift-out shelf.

Evoking lazy summer days and wide-open skies, this one-of-a-kind jewelry set by BARN member  Kristina Bright pairs vivid blue topaz with faceted turquoise for an easy Boho-chic feel. The earrings have sterling silver elements. The simple yet elegant bracelet features cultured freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, and a handmade sterling silver clasp.

This multi-colored charcuterie board would be the perfect centerpiece for your next party and many gatherings of friends and family afterward. At 36” by 13”,  it’s big enough to adapt for all sorts of menus. BARN instructor Dawn Weaver created it from epoxy and black walnut.

BARN’s community and the Glass Arts and Woodworking studios teamed up to make this unique end table. Guests at the 2025 Night at BARN arranged the glass pieces, the Glass Arts Studio fused them, and Morgan Neff built the Shaker-inspired cherry table.  21” by 17” and 26.5” high.

Board member and master pie baker Holly Gray will grace you with seasonal pies for a year: apple in fall (from a fourth-generation family recipe), pecan in winter, lemon chiffon in spring, and peaches and cream in summer. As a bonus, you’ll also get a deep Emile Henry ceramic pie dish.

This beautiful silicon bronze bowl is a work of art. Mario Oblak, an instructor in BARN’s foundry program, created the stripes by sanding the higher areas more so they would react differently to the patina. The interior has a different patina, resulting in a darker, earthy look. Bowl is 3” by 7”.
