‘A Handweaver’s Pattern Book’ Set for Comeback

BARN volunteer Caroline Cooley Browne (pictured above) is helping bring her grandmother Marguerite Porter Davison’s classic “A Handweaver’s Pattern Book” back into print, more than two years after the project began. The 75th anniversary edition features fresh photography and new woven samples from more than 80 weavers across the country, guided by some of today’s best-known names in the craft. Teen Night Dates on the Calendar

Teen Night returns this fall! Grades 7-12 are invited to a free Friday evening of art and community. This year’s dates are Oct. 9, Nov. 6, Dec. 11, Jan. 8, Feb. 12, March 12, April 23, and May 14. Handwork Week 2027

Mark your calendars: Handwork Week returns to BARN April 12-16, 2027. Immerse yourself in craft and community for five days of intensive, hands-on workshops with accomplished makers. One past participant called the experience a “foundational memory,” the kind of week that changes how you see your own work.
