Congratulations to BARN’s new and returning board members elected at the Jan. 4 annual meeting. The BARN board of directors is responsible for ensuring the organization fulfills its mission by providing guidance, strategic planning, and financial oversight. The following volunteers have graciously stepped in to serve.
Mel Carson
Mel Carson, Founder and CEO of Delightful Communications, brings nearly 25 years of marketing experience to the board. Formerly Microsoft’s Digital Marketing Evangelist, Mel is known for his work in social media, influencer marketing, and personal branding. He resides on Bainbridge Island with his wife, Ashley, and together, they own the 11-acre Ruby Creek Retreat wetland wildlife preservation near Port Orchard.
Tom Hogan
In his over 30 years as an intellectual property attorney, Tom Hogan has advised boards of directors of several public and private technology companies. He enjoys helping technology companies and non-profit organizations grow, prosper, and attain their strategic goals. Tom is actively involved in community service, including work with Rotary clubs and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoys traveling, woodworking, fly fishing, and the outdoors.
Warren Pollock
Retired Architect Warren Pollock has channeled his lifelong interest in art, architecture, and design into his projects as a woodworker. Since moving to Bainbridge with his wife, Ginger, in 2016, he has designed and built more than 25 woodworking projects and exhibited his furniture and drawings locally.
Erin Thomasson
Erin joined BARN in 2021 as the first full-time business manager. With a 20-year career in international business, she brings a wealth of experience to the board. She is a former college basketball player, a graduate of the University of Washington, and holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from Seattle University Business School.
We also extend our congratulations to incumbent directors Sallie Maron and Jeff Williams who were re-elected to their positions on Thursday.
