This November, the Writers’ Studio at BARN invites you to embrace the time-honored tradition of drafting a novel in a month. Whether you’re aiming for the classic 50,000-word goal or setting your own pace, our community is here to support your creative journey.
Featured Program: Write a Novel in November
Join Emily Smiley, award-winning horror novelist and Writers’ Studio programming coordinator, for this special four-week online meetup series starting Nov. 3. Meeting Monday evenings from 5:45 – 8:15 PM, these focused writing sessions provide two hours of dedicated writing time alongside fellow authors. Set your personalized word count goal in the first session and benefit from weekly check-ins that keep you accountable and motivated. Free for BARN members, $10 for guests.
Additional November Writing Resources:
- Write Now Tuesdays & Thursdays (9:30-11:30 AM): Free Zoom sessions using the Pomodoro Technique—perfect for building daily writing habits during your novel challenge
- Writers’ Studio Critique Group (Nov. 5, 6:30 PM): Get valuable feedback on your work-in-progress
- Community Roundtable: Brainstorming (Nov. 12, 6-8 PM): Break through those inevitable mid-novel blocks with collaborative problem-solving
