3D Printing Special Interest Group

Tuesday, Jan. 13, 6 – 7 PM

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new 3D Printing Special Interest Group. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been printing for years, this group brings together BARN’s 3D printing community to learn, share, and experiment together.

The group will meet from 6 to 7 PM on the second Tuesday of each month.

Each session features short presentations and guided discussions on topics that matter to enthusiasts of 3D printing. We’ll explore everything from practical applications to cutting-edge techniques.

Do you have a 3D printing project to show off? A technique you’ve mastered? A modification that improved your prints? We’d love to hear from you! Presentations can range from simple show-and-tells to more in-depth explorations of theoretical concepts. If you’re interested in presenting, come to a session or email tech.programming@bainbridgebarn.org.

This is a collaborative space where everyone learns from each other, so don’t hesitate to bring your questions, projects, and ideas.

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

New Programming Coordinator Jeff Ort

We’re very happy to announce that Jeff Ort has agreed to become the Tech Lab programming lead.  He’s off to a great start with two new Studio Monitors and a number of new classes being planned for the coming months.

Jeff is a Seattle-based technologist and maker whose lifelong curiosity leads him to explore how digital ideas take shape in the physical world.

For the past 35 years in the Pacific Northwest, he has moved alongside rapidly changing technology, building software and influencing how it connects people and ideas. This background makes him a natural fit in the Tech Lab at BARN, where digital tools and hands-on making come together. Outside the lab, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, who keep him grounded and curious in all the right ways.

If you have ideas for new classes, please contact Jeff, and we’ll see if we can make the classes happen.
