February greetings from the Glass Studio!

The beginning of this month brought us the sad and shocking news that longtime BARN member and fellow glass artist Laurie Moose unexpectedly passed away.

The studio will not be the same without her creative presence, her talent, and her quiet wit. She will be missed. We all extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Jeffrey Moose family at this difficult time.

We had a great studio social in January and thank all who attended and participated. Thank you Constance Ducar for initiating our new Studio Talks. Our next studio social will be 4-6 PM April 20 in the Commons and will feature Donna Rodger leading a discussion on more ways to display our glass creations. Mark your calendars!

Also, keep your eye on the catalog for new instructors and new techniques in hot glass.

We’re excited and happy that so many people are interested in Glass Studio classes! Remember to add your name to the wait list if classes are full. We want to know when to add another session and you’ll want to know if someone drops out.

Also keep your eyes open for announcements from Kate relating to a new Spring BARN Bazaar in May. Start making items to sell!

Note that our next studio cleanup is scheduled for 2-4:30 PM March 19. Sign up and help tidy up for spring.

As always, if you have ideas, suggestions, questions, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
