We’re rebooting our letterpress certification program! Join instructor Alejandro Acosta to learn the fundamentals of working with metal type and the iconic Vandercook proof press. You’ll learn to find, set, ink, print, clean, and store metal type, and create a personal quote printed on student-grade paper to take home. This class is the first step toward certification to independently use the Vandercook proof press in the studio. A few spots remain in this December session, and we’ll also be offering a January session for those who need more scheduling flexibility. Learn more

And don’t miss the new Intro to Shellac Plate class with Virginia H. Davison 10 AM – 4 PM on Saturday, Dec. 13. Dive in to this versatile and cost-effective etching technique. Using matboard and shellac — no acids required — you’ll learn to create, etch, cut, shape, burnish, and print beautiful plates with stunning tonal qualities. You’ll make two or three plates and create finished prints to take home. Best of all, you can create new plates at home and join Virginia for a Focused Open Studio on Jan. 11 to practice your new skills! Learn more
