Exciting things are happening in the Glass Arts Studio this month, as we prepare for Refract and Night at BARN. The call for artists to show work at Refract is still open! Sign up here. And save the date for the artist reception from 2 – 3 PM on Oct. 19.

Thank you to Betsy Hagestedt for sharing her Summer Pilchuck experience with us at our Fall Social. We also honored three of our studio superheroes: Constance Ducar, Nancy Adams, and Julie Dougherty. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for glass arts at BARN!

Thanks also to Kate Henderson for getting our monitor set up. We love it!

Correction from last newsletter: Apologies to Guest Artist Richard Parrish, for misspelling your name.

Coldworking Room Training Available

If anyone wants a refresher or training in the coldworking room, two-person hands-on classes will be held on an as-needed basis and in coordination with the instructors. Contact glass.lead@bainbridgebarn.org to schedule.

Studio Monitor Retreats: Don’t Miss Out!

Glass Volunteer Coordinator Donna Rodger is hosting Studio Monitor Retreat sessions on Sunday, Sept. 21; Sunday, Sept. 28; and Tuesday, Oct. 7; so everyone can attend at least one. These essential gatherings help keep our studio running smoothly and safely. Please sign up on the Volunteer Calendar. Your participation makes a difference! Want to get more involved in the studio? We’re looking for volunteers to help with safety and programming.

Night at BARN: Let’s Get Ready for Oct. 4

Our Glass Arts Studio will be hosting a collaborative fused-glass project in which everyone can participate. Please donate COE 96 glass scraps in blues and greens to contribute to our stunning tabletop. Look for donation bins throughout the studio.

“Buy It Now” donations welcome, too! Many studio members also are generously donating finished pieces for sale during the event. These donated works will be available for purchase, with all proceeds directly benefiting BARN.

To participate, fill out the donation form and drop off items in the studio by Oct. 3. Unsold items will be returned to the artist.
