Welcome to the first episode of BARN Connects! BARN is a nonprofit makerspace with ten studios: Culinary Arts, Fiber Arts, Glass Arts, Jewelry & Fine Metals, Media Arts, Metal Fabrication, Print & Book Arts, Tech Lab, Woodworking & Small Boat Building, and Writers’ Studio. Dave Roe, a longtime volunteer who project-managed the building of BARN’s 25,000-square-foot facility, discusses his involvement in the project, his background in architecture, and his passion for woodworking. Dave shares insights into the challenges and rewards of woodworking, including the precision required and the unpredictability of wood. The conversation will also introduce you to the community aspect of BARN, with volunteers and members sharing their skills and knowledge with others. Discover the creativity, community, and passion for craftsmanship at BARN!
