Welcome to BARN!

Don’t miss BARN during your visit to Bainbridge Island! Just a short distance from downtown Winslow, BARN is a 25,000 square feet makerspace divided among 10 artisan studios. We offer classes and events for makers of all skill levels. Classes vary from short introductory classes to multi-day workshops. No membership is required!

If you’re planning a short day trip to Bainbridge, don’t miss a free tour of BARN. Guided tours are available Wednesday or Sunday between 1 and 3 pm (excluding holidays). No need to register, just walk in and join the next tour. Your guide will take you inside all 10 studio workspaces, show you the tools and equipment, and answer your questions.

You also are welcome to visit BARN any day during open hours. Maps of the facility are available for self-guided tours, and you’ll be able to see inside the studios as you walk through the building.

Beautiful Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Island is home to beaches, bike rides, walking trails, farms, gardens, wineries, art venues, and more. Getting Here

BARN is located on Bainbridge Island, Wash., just a 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Located 1.8 miles north of the Bainbridge ferry terminal. Free car and bicycle parking is available on site.

Kitsap Transit

Try BI Ride, a free bus shuttle service that makes regular stops at the ferry terminal and other island locations including BARN.

From the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal, there are several Kitsap Transit buses that will take you to the nearby intersections at Highway 305 and Madison Avenue, or New Brooklyn Road and Madison Avenue. BARN’s address is 8890 Three Tree Lane, a right turn off New Brooklyn Road Northeast.

WA State ferries

The Bainbridge Island ferry will take you on foot or in your car from downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island.

Driving directions

From the ferry terminal: Follow W-305 north for 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Madison Avenue North. In .1 miles, turn right onto Northeast New Brooklyn Road. In 453 feet, turn right onto Three Tree Lane. BARN is on the right at the top of the hill.

From the north: Travel south on W-305. Turn right at the light 5.3 miles south of Agate Pass Bridge, onto Madison Avenue North. In .1 miles, turn right onto Northeast New Brooklyn Road. In 453 feet, turn right onto Three Tree Lane. BARN is on the right at the top of the hill.

From Sea-Tac

Our closest airport is Seattle/Tacoma International Airport. From the airport, you can rent a car, catch a Taxi or a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft, or take Link Light Rail to the Seattle Ferry Terminal
