Join us for an extraordinary celebration of American craft as BARN participates in Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026, a national initiative led by PBS’s Craft in America and the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery. Registration is now open to BARN members for intensive workshops with nationally renowned artists celebrating American craft. Save by registering before Oct. 1, when Washington State sales tax comes into effect (more details below). Registration for the general public opens on Oct. 3
Handwork Week is an unprecedented week of BARN programming, bringing renowned artisans and curious students to BARN for immersive workshops across studios. Transform your practice as you explore the unique voices and techniques that define our creative past, present, and future.
Instructors include Suquamish elder and master woodworker Randi Purser, visual artist Alisa Banks, Montana glass artist Richard Parrish, New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Evison, software developer and multi-disciplinary maker Brian Gillespie, Colorado jewelry artist Suzanne Williams, Northwest basket weaver Melinda West, and other distinguished artisans and makers.
