BARN’s Woodworking Basics certificate program, launched in the fall of 2023, has seen encouraging growth and adaptation in its inaugural year. This comprehensive program, consisting of 14 classes and a mentored project, offers participants a solid foundation in woodworking skills.
The initial group saw strong interest, with 18 applications and 13 enrollments. By June, five participants had completed all 16 classes, with two earning their certificates after finishing their mentored projects. The majority of others are on track to be completed by December 2024, demonstrating the program’s flexibility in accommodating participants’ needs.
Subsequent groups, starting in the spring and fall of 2024, have shown steady interest. The program now accepts applications quarterly, streamlining the administrative process. An informational open house is scheduled for Oct. 12, offering a chance to learn more about this exciting program and how it can help you achieve your woodworking goals.
