Summertime is a great time to be at BARN! The studios are alive with makers of all ages. The outdoor classrooms are humming as Summer Youth classes bring youth ages 8-18 to BARN to learn and create. See below for a few snapshots of what’s happening at BARN.

Crochet 101, Monday, July 24, 6-9 pm
This class is for those who have never done crochet before and those who need a refresher. You will start by learning the six basic crochet stitches that are the foundation of all crochet and crochet a swatch to practice them. For the class project, you will make a crocheted headband.

Using the Domino Joiner, Wednesday, July 26, 6-9 pm
Learn to use the Woodworkinig Studio’s Domino joiners, which speed up the work of securely connecting pieces of wood. Mortise-and-tenon joints are some of the strongest, but creating them by hand or with traditional power tools is tricky. That’s why woodworkers turn to the Festool Domino joiner.

Summer Wine Discovery: Sauvignon Blanc, Saturday, July 29, 6-7:30 pm
This versatile wine is crisp and refreshing, equally at home poured at a fancy dinner or a backyard barbecue. We’ll blind taste Sauv Blancs from France, New Zealand, and beyond, learning about the different styles and traditions.

This introduction to the CNC (computer numerical control) plasma cutter focuses on safety, general principles, start-up, and shut-down procedures of BARN’s CNC plasma cutter.

Printing on Fiber, Fri. & Sat., Aug. 4 & 5, 10 am to 4 pm
