Are you seeking a pathway into a rewarding career that allows you to work with your hands and takes advantage of your creativity? Beginning in fall 2019, BARN is launching two nine-month, full-time programs that will prepare you for jobs in the woodworking or jewelry-making industries.
Rather than focusing on granting a four-year degree, BARN’s certificate programs are designed to provide a solid foundation in how to work safely, efficiently and with precision. You will learn through classes, guided and independent studio time, and participation in community service projects. Working alongside many other creative people at BARN will help inspire your own design ideas. By the end of the year, you will have a portfolio of work to show to prospective employers and a network of people you can tap to vouch for the skills you have developed.
Interested? Attend one of three free information sessions scheduled for August 14, August 31 and September 12. Download an application form here. Or contact BARN’s Certification Program Coordinator Nanz Aalund by calling 206-842-4475, ext. 223, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Career advisement and tuition assistance are available. Classes start September 30.
